About The Atelier
From assisting in my mother's salon at 14 to training in Johannesburg and London.
My mother braided until her fingers bled. I watched clients leave with beautiful styles and damaged scalps. I promised myself there was another way.
In 2018, I certified as a trichologist in South Africa — not to add a title, but to understand why edges disappear, why growth stalls, why protective styles sometimes aren't protective at all.
Today, Thelma Ben Atelier is a quiet studio in Harare. No loud music. No double-booking. One client at a time. We measure, we map, we protect. Editorial work pays the bills; healthy hair is the mission.
