I have loved hair for as long as I can remember. Long before I understood it as a skill or a possible career, I was the young girl in the neighborhood experimenting with styles, spending hours learning how to part cleanly and braid neatly.
Chapter 01Where It Started
Growing up, I would practice on anyone who would sit still long enough. Friends, cousins, neighbours. I did not have professional tools or products then, just patience and curiosity. I loved the feeling of transforming hair, of creating something neat and beautiful with my hands.
In secondary school, that curiosity became dedication. I started to take it more seriously, watching, learning, trying again when a style did not come out right. I realised that braiding was not just something I enjoyed — it was something I wanted to be excellent at.
Chapter 02Three Years of Learning
After school, I joined a salon and spent three years working professionally. Those three years taught me everything the practice at home could not. I learned about different hair textures, scalp health, how to consult with clients, how to manage time, and how to work under pressure.
More importantly, I learned that hairstyling is as much about people as it is about technique. Listening to what a woman wants, understanding her lifestyle, making her feel comfortable in the chair — that is the real work.
Chapter 03The Courage to Start
Leaving the security of a salon job to start something of my own was not easy. There were difficult moments, uncertainty, and many questions. But I carried with me a skill I had nurtured since childhood, and a belief that I could build something that reflected the kind of care I wanted clients to feel.
Protective styles should protect. That simple belief shapes every appointment in my chair.
PrinciplesWhat I Believe In
Personal, not templated
Each style adapted to face shape, personality, and lifestyle — not a copied look.
Tension-free
Protective styles should protect. Thoughtful installation without unnecessary tension.
Clean & calm
Neat parting, clean sections, comfortable experience from start to finish.
Care over speed
The experience matters. Feeling cared for while your hair is being done.
I also believe that a beautiful hairstyle should not mean ignoring the health and comfort of the hair and scalp. Protective styles can make everyday hair care easier and reduce daily manipulation, but they should be installed thoughtfully and without unnecessary tension. That is why I want to approach my work with care as well as creativity.
VisionLooking Ahead
I am proud of how far I have come, but I know there is still so much more to learn. I want to continue improving my techniques, exploring new styles, learning from other professionals, understanding modern trends, and finding new ways to make the salon experience better. I want my work to continue growing with me.
My vision is to build a place where women can trust the quality of the work, feel comfortable being themselves, and leave feeling confident in their own beauty.
I also hope that my journey can encourage other young women who have a talent they may not yet recognise as a possible career. Sometimes, the beginning of your future does not look like a business idea. Sometimes it looks like a young girl simply enjoying something she loves.
EpilogueWhere My Story Continues
My journey began with a young girl experimenting with hair. It continued through secondary school, where curiosity became dedication. It developed through three years of professional salon experience, where I learned that hairstyling is as much about people as it is about technique.
Then came the difficult moments, the decisions, the uncertainty, and eventually the courage to open something of my own.
I started braiding because I loved hair. I kept learning because I wanted to become better. I worked because I wanted experience. I struggled because building something of your own is never easy. And I opened my own shop because I believed that the skill I had carried with me since childhood could become something bigger.
I am still learning. I am still growing. And I am still discovering what this journey can become.
But one thing has remained the same from the beginning: I love what I do. And every braid I create is another small part of the story I started writing when I was just a girl with a love for hair.
Come sit in my chair.
A place where you can trust the quality, feel comfortable being yourself, and leave feeling confident in your own beauty.
